Víctor Ros y el gran robo del oro español

Víctor Ros se encuentra de vacaciones en un balneario junto con su mujer, Clara, y sus tres hijos. Recibe la visita de dos agentes de la Brigada Metropolitana de Madrid que le dicen que tiene que acompañarles a Madrid para ayudar a resolver el caso del intento de robo al Banco de España. Una vez allí, el presidente del Gobierno y el ministro de Gobernación le piden desesperadamente su ayuda. El Banco de España ha sufrido un intento de robo, pero solo era una maniobra de distracción mientras se cometía otra sustracción: el de las dos terceras partes del tesoro nacional en lingotes de oro que se encontraban en un banco anónimo de Madrid.
Ros es el único que da crédito a este último testimonio, ya que cree ver en esta gran puesta en escena la impronta del criminal Aldanza, al que todos consideran muerto tiempo atrás. Así, nuestro protagonista no tiene más remedio que viajar a Londres, donde cree que se encuentra su antiguo maestro y asesino, acompañado de Blázquez y, sin saberlo, con la protección de dos personas que, como sombras protectoras, cuidarán de que a Víctor no le pase nada.

Víctor Ros took some vacation time after a case that almost cost him his life. But crime never stops, and the Madrid Metropolitan squad requires his services again. The Bank of Spain has experienced an attempted robbery, but it was only a distraction while the true crime was committed: the theft of two-thirds of the national treasure in gold ingots that was on the other side of the capital. The only clue they have to work with is the name that one of the bank assailants uttered before he died: Aldanza. Ros is the only person who believes this testimony, because he recognizes this staging as the work of the criminal Aldanza, whom everyone believes is dead.
A series of clues indicate London as the place where they will find the suspect, and therefore, the gold. But things aren’t easy for our protagonist: a shadow from the past threatens to take advantage of the case’s distractions to end his life. What Ros isn’t expecting is to have the help of a 20th-century legend: his admired and famous Sherlock Holmes.
